RN to BSN Program

The RN-BSN program at Georgia Highlands College provides registered nurses an opportunity for career and education advancement by earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Students may complete the program in as few as three semesters full-time or four semesters part-time. BSN courses are offered in an asynchronous online format allowing students to work while earning their degree.

To provide educational opportunities designed to produce a baccalaureate graduate nurse who demonstrates professional, ethical and accountable behaviors, interpersonal communication, comprehensive assessment, clinical decision-making and collaborative skills, teaching and learning capabilities, and provides evidence-based practice and leadership in diverse and complex health care settings.

To provide a teaching/learning environment that promotes inclusiveness, accessibility and provide learning opportunities, programs and services of excellence in response to documented needs.

Outcome 1: Integrate knowledge gained from the arts, sciences and nursing to deliver safe therapeutic nursing care.

Outcome 2:  Apply principles of leadership, management, and evidence-based practice to influence healthcare outcomes.

Outcome 3: Synthesize reliable evidence and research from multiple sources to improve clinical judgments, nursing practice, and patient outcomes.

Outcome 4: Manage care to achieve quality, cost effective outcomes in the delivery of health care for individuals, families and populations.

Outcome 5: Evaluate the impact of political, financial, regulatory and environmental agencies on patient care outcomes and nursing practice.

Outcome 6:  Utilize effective communication and collaboration skills within an inter-disciplinary team to provide patient-centered and evidence-based nursing care.

Outcome 7:  Develop health promotion and disease prevention strategies to assist individuals, families, groups, and communities.
