In-Class Services

Classroom Observation

Faculty can request a class observation where a CETL team member will consult with the faculty, observe a class, and help the faculty create an action plan based on improvements or maintenance. Documentation can be provided to the faculty to use at their discretion. These observations are initiated by the faculty and any information collected is private, confidential, and returned to the faculty.

Student Instructional Analysis

Student Instructional Analysis (SIA; also known as Small Group Instructional Diagnosis, SGID) offers the students an opportunity to provide verbal feedback. The SIA is usually conducted in the last 15 minutes of class between the CETL consultant and students only. The students answer two questions and then vote on its importance to them. The raw data is provided to the faculty during a follow-up consultation. The SIA is initiated by the faculty and any information collected is private and confidential and returned to the faculty.
