New part-time faculty are invited to join us for a brief orientation to discuss the basics of teaching at GHC. We will also explore best practices of instructional strategies. You will get a change to talk to your Chairs in a breakout session.

Artificial Intelligence - Faculty Learning Community
Fall and Spring Semester | Approx. 1 meeting per month | Teams | Facilitator: Tom Harnden
This Faculty Learning Community (FLC) will focus on Artificial Intelligence. The FLC will read the book The Opposite of Cheating: Teaching for Integrity in the Age of AI. Professor Harnden will lead the group in applying the concepts to your courses. The FLC will meet approximately once a month in both fall and spring semester. Professor Harnden, with the help of CETL, will arrange the time and dates as well as establish any deliverables for the FLC. Once you register for this FLC, you will be sent the book and the facilitator will contact you.
Pedagogy of Kindness - Faculty Learning Community

This Faculty Learning Community (FLC) will focus on kindness and connections in the classroom. The FLC will read the book The Pedagogy of Kindness: Teaching, Engaging, and Thriving in Higher Education. The facilitator will lead the group in applying the concepts of kindness to your courses. The FLC will meet approximately once a month in both fall and spring semester. The facilitator, with the help of CETL, will arrange the time and dates as well as establish any deliverables for the FLC. Once you register for this FLC, you will be sent the book and the facilitator will contact you.
Distracted Learners - Faculty Learning Community
