How to Become a GHC Online Course Reviewer
Step 1: Express Interest
- Complete the Online Course Reviewer Interest Form.
- You must have taught online college courses for at least two years since 2021 to be a reviewer (i.e., you have taught online for at least 2 of the following years: 2021, 2022, 2023).
- Please note that while we will do our best to assign you courses to review that align with your preferences stated in the form, we may not be able to do so.
Step 2: Online Course Reviewer Training
- Complete the Online Course Reviewer Training in D2L.
- Teresa Hutchins, CETL Faculty Fellow for Online Learning, will enroll you in the training in D2L when you complete the interest form.
- The training has six modules, including an overview of the Online Course Review Process, a review of FERPA, an examination of the rubric, and the opportunity to practice with the rubric. It features discussion boards about each criteria and its expectations, in which reviewers-in-training can collaborate on the types of activities and assessments that will meet the criteria and the expectations.
Step 3: Review the Course(s)
- Teresa Hutchins will assign you to the course(s) you will review with the Online Course Review Rubric.
- Reviews are to be completed within four weeks of when they are assigned.
- Please note that you may not review more than two courses concurrently and four per semester.
- When you complete the review, email your completed rubric to Teresa Hutchins, who will meet with the faculty course representative to discuss the course review report—which includes both her and your reviews—and plan for meeting any unmet expectations.
- Teresa Hutchins may request clarification or additional information as needed about what you have recorded on the rubric.
- Your participation in the review is complete when Teresa Hutchins approves your completed Online Course Review Rubric.
Step 4: Get Compensated
- You will be paid $200 (fringe benefits included, added to your paycheck) per online course review you have completed.
- Please note that you may not review more than two courses concurrently and four per semester.
