AFFIRMING GHC’s ACCREDITATION

Oversight of continue improvement is the responsibility of the IESI Office. Included with that responsibility are appropriate correspondence, notifications and reporting to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Moreover, the Office directs the reaffirmation of accreditation and substantive change processes. These processes provide colleges and universities with an opportunity for reflection, honest assessment of strengths and weaknesses, along with a chance to develop strategies for continued improvement.

2018 SACSCOC Reaffirmation of Accreditation
About every ten years, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) member institutions are required to undergo a comprehensive internal and external review in order to receive reaffirmation of accreditation. Georgia Highlands College underwent its decennial review by SACSCOC in 2017-18. The Fifth Year Interim Review is scheduled for Fall 2023.
