Abundant, shallow, fast moving water is the basis of a thriving wetland ecosystem. The Wetlands Nature Reserve is wetter than ever after Floyd County finally received an above-average rainfall in late June. Great weather for ducks... or for human visitors. Geese generally migrate, but some choose not to leave Paris Lake and the nature preserve and remain for the summer.
