Office of the Provost

Meet the Provost

Dr. Sarah Coakley

Welcome to the Georgia Highlands College! We serve over 5,000 students from 30 counties in Northwest Georgia and beyond via over 40 affordable areas of study, including eight bachelor's degrees and in-person, hybrid, and online options. In 2023 we were a semifinalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, making GHC one of the top 25 community colleges in the nation and the only institution in Georgia to be named.

The Office of the Provost has primary responsibility for the academic affairs of the college, including its six schools and divisions and various departments, all of which contribute to our mission of providing access to a teaching and learning environment that prepares our students to thrive in a global society. In this capacity, I work closely with GHC's leaders to ensure the excellence of our academic programs and promote our students' success. We are committed to welcoming and supporting our diverse students, instructors, and communities.

Sincerely,

Sarah Coakley, Ph.D.
