How do I get started with my orientation?

  1. Register for an Online Orientation Session (attendance is required):

    • GHC orientation is an opportunity to become familiar with everything GHC has to offer and ensure a smooth start to your first semester. During orientation, you’ll gain insights to our Dual Enrollment program and all it has to offer, meet your fellow dual enrollment students, and become acquainted with campus facilities and resources. The GHC online orientation is the option for only fully online students and allows students to become familiar with everything GHC has to offer and ensure a smooth start to your first semester, especially in the online world as a student. Students will hear from various student service departments, such as advising, financial aid, and the business office, and become more acquainted with GHC. Online orientations take place in Microsoft Teams.
    • Register for an orientation session in your admitted student dashboard.
  2. Complete Pre-Orientation in D2L:

    • Before your scheduled Orientation, we recommend completing Pre-Orientation in D2L. These quick, self-paced modules will introduce you to everything GHC has to offer!
    • How to Complete Pre-Orientation:
      1. Log into your MyGHC Student Portal using your GHC student email login.
      2. Access D2L in the program icons in the top left.
      3. Access the "Dual Enrollment Student Orientation" course and follow the modules to complete.

  3. Class Registration:

    • Dual Enrollment students do not register for classes on their own. Instead, they must visit our Course Offerings page, select their desired classes, and complete a Course Request Form. Students attending an online orientation will be registered for classes by an advisor based on their answers in the advising questionnaire (step one above).
    • Once dual enrollment students have chosen their classes, they must follow the directions on how to submit a Course Request Form Password: spring Once your schedule is built by an advisor, you will receive an email to your GHC student email account with the next steps
      • Feel free to contact our Dual Enrollment Coordinators with any questions at dualenroll@highlands.edu (be sure to email from your GHC student email account and note your GHC ID number).
