All students must take the Pre-Orientation once they have been admitted to the college. Students can find the link through their Check Admissions Status page. Fifteen minutes after completing it, will be able to register for an orientation if they are required to attend. Students will have a OO (Pre-Orientation) hold until they satisfy the requirement. The quiz provides general information about GHC as well as information about student technology, how to pay for classes, and when to pay for classes.
GHC offers two orientation programs. One program is for our new freshmen, transfer, and non-traditional students (Charger Orientation) and the other program (Online Orientation) is for fully online learners. If you are a Transient, Re-Admit, or Post Baccalaureate student, orientation is not mandatory.
Charger Orientation will take place virtual for the summer of 2020. We will miss seeing you in person and are quickly creating an online and remote orientation program for this summer. We know you are excited to get started, and we are excited to help you get started at GHC. We know that this is not the experience you thought you would have, but we promise to make the most of it!
The Virtual Orientation is a 20 minute video with an optional Zoom advising session. For more information on how to complete the Virtual Orientation, email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you do not attend an orientation session you will not be able to register until the first day of classes.
For priority registration student fees are due by the payment deadline. Fees cover all charges except books (i.e., tuition, technology fee, student activity fees, Charger Card, etc.) See Business Office to view the upcoming payment deadline. Fees paid prior to the payment deadline, can be made online with a credit card or account withdrawal or in person at any of our campus locations with cash, money order, financial aid or any combination of these.
Books can be purchased from the Bookstore located on the Floyd Campus, Cartersville Campus or from the online store . Your information from your Schedule/Bill printout from orientation is needed to purchase books.
Part of the orientation welcome email will be a Schedule Preference form. The answers to this form will help your campus advisor create your schedule for the upcoming semester. You will also have the opportunity to drop-in and meet with an advisor if you need to make schedule changes.
