Charger Orientation FAQs
All students must take the Pre-Orientation once they have been admitted to the college. Students can find the link through their Check Admissions Status page. Fifteen minutes after completing it, you will be able to register for an orientation, if orientation is required for your student type. Students will have a OO (Pre-Orientation) hold until they satisfy the requirement. The quiz provides general information about GHC as well as information about student technology, how to pay for classes, and when to pay for classes.
New Freshmen, Transfer, and Non-Traditional Students
Orientation is a two-step process. Students are required to attend a Virtual Orientation session (via Zoom) as well as a Welcome to Campus Orientation. You can register for the Virtual Orientation session through your Check Admissions Status. The Welcome to Campus Orientation will be held on each site for campus tours, getting your student ID (Charger ID card), and parking pass.

Books can be purchased from the Bookstore located on the Floyd Campus, Cartersville Campus, or from the online store. Your detailed schedule information from your schedule/bill is needed to purchase books.
Of course! As a brand new GHC student, an advisor will create your first semester schedule for you based on your schedule preferences from your pre-orientation. You will then receive an email to your GHC student email account when you have been officially registered.
If you want to make any schedule changes after that, please follow the instructions listed on the email from the advisor. You can either stop by the Virtual Hub during the Advising drop-in hours or email the Advising department directly to: advising@highlands.edu. Make sure to email us from your GHC student email account and always include your GHC student ID number.
