RDH to BSDH Core Curriculum Information
Please refer to the core curriculum checklist below to evaluate your transcripts for any remaining courses needed. It is not required that all core curriculum be completed to be accepted into the program, but it will make the transition easier. The majority of the core requirements are offered online at GHC allowing you to fit this into your work schedule.
Acceptance to the program will also require general admission to GHC. Please refer to the GHC Admission Page to apply.

Core Curriculum- (60 hours) Areas A-F
Area A: (9 hours)
ENGL 1101 English Composition I
- ENGL 1102 English Composition II
- MATH 1001 Quantitative Skills and Reasoning, MATH 1111 College Algebra, or MATH1113 Precalculus
Area B: (4-5 hours)
- COMM 1100 Human Communications* or COMM 1110 Public Speaking
- GHSS 2901 Special Topics: Social Science (Medical History), IDIS 1000 Social and Cultural Issues,
IDIS 1101 Social and Cultural Issues, or NSCI 1100 Science in Today’s World
Area C: (6 hours)
- 1 literature course (can be American, British, or World Literature, African American/Hispanic, etc.)
- 1 humanities elective (3 credit hours)
Area D: (10-11 hours)
- 1 Science sequence: CHEM 1151K and 1152K Survey of Chemistry I & II; CHEM 1211K and 1212K Principles of Chemistry I & II; or BIOL 1010K and BIOL 2190 Introductory Biology & Principles of Nutrition
- MATH 2200 Elementary Statistics or MATH 1401-Intro to Statistics
Area E: (12 hours)
- POLS 1101 American Government
- HIST 2111 American History I or HIST 2112 American History II
- Western or World Civilization: HIST 1111, HIST 1112, HIST 1121, or HIST 1122
- PSYC 1101 Introduction to General Psychology or SOCI 1101 Intro to Sociology
