Collapse Faculty and Staff Will I get a ticket for parking in the reserved spaces if I am a student? Expand Yes, and no. You may park in one reserved lot on the Floyd Campus (parking lot F2) after 5:30PM during classes, but not in any other campus lot or marked reserved space. Do I have to put my parking hang tag on the rear-view mirror? Expand Yes, unless there is no rear view mirror. On the dash or in a readily viewable place with the numbers showing is acceptable. Student Parking Decals should be displayed on the left rear window. If I have a hang tag but have to drive another car will I get a ticket? Expand Yes, however, temporary parking permits are available from the Campus Safety Office at no charge. If I have a temporary injury can I park in the handicapped parking space? Expand No. Only State issued temporary permits or disability license plates can be recognized by law. Contact your local county clerk for a temporary permit. When do I have to pay my ticket? Expand Anytime before the end of the current academic term. What if I disagree with my ticket? Expand Bring the ticket to the Campus Safety Office within 5 days and submit an appeal form. You may appeal within 7 calendar days through the Office of Student Engagement. What is the speed limit on campus? Expand 15 Miles per hour. What do I do if I am involved in a traffic accident on campus? Expand Call Campus Safety for assistance. Can Campus Safety help me if my battery is dead or my keys are locked in my car? Expand Yes, we will attempt (with your written permission) to jump start your car or unlock your car. Can the Campus Safety Department help me locate someone on campus in the event of an emergency? Expand Yes, if the person is a current student, faculty or staff member, but we cannot reveal any information regarding students without a prior written authorization due to FERPA regulations.
