Yes, you can Check Your Admissions Status and monitor your progress. Once you are accepted, follow the steps to complete your pre-orientation and then register for an orientation session. View the orientation website for more information.
Yes! Through the dual enrollment program, students can take college courses while they are in high school and satisfy both high school and college requirements. Please contact your high school counseling office to begin this process. You can also view the dual enrollment admissions requirements for more information.

Applicants who are within 5 years of high school graduation (or under 30 transfer credit hours) must have a 2.0 minimum GPA within their high school coursework.
Applicants must also be eligible to continue or return to their previous institution.
ACT or SAT is not required for applicants who graduate from a regionally accredited high school program.
ACT or SAT is REQUIRED for the following applicant types: graduates from non-accredited high school programs, applicants with a GED who are under the age of 18, and applicants who meet the minimum 2.0 high school GPA requirement.
ACT or SAT scores are reviewed for exemption of placement testing.
Yes, there is a $30 mandatory and non-refundable fee for all applicant types, except for dual enrollment students (students still in high school taking college courses).
In 2011, the University System of Georgia Board of Regents implemented a new policy requiring all USG institutions to verify the lawful U.S. presence for each applicant applying for in-state tuition. This change was necessary in order to respond to the Georgia State law that requires all students unlawfully present in the U.S. to be charged out-of-state tuition rates. Please visit our lawful presence webpage for more information.
Applicants who believe they meet current University System of Georgia (USG) requirements for Georgia residency for tuition purposes may submit a petition. Please contact residency@highlands.edu for clarification about your specific requirements for the process.
Programs & Class Registration
GHC offers both associate and bachelor degree options – view our current list of programs. Some can even be earned fully online!
Of course! An advisor creates your first semester schedule based on your responses in pre-orientation, so be sure to specify your campus preferences there. Contact advising@highlands.edu if you have any questions or want to make changes, after you have been officially registered. View the orientation process to learn more about the timeline of registration.
Each upcoming semester schedule can be found in course offerings. For future reference, course offerings can be accessed from the GHC homepage, and then select Current Students, and then select Course Offerings. No logging in required!
