Hiking is Walking at a Higher Level

Highlands “Unlikely” Hikers reinforce that hiking is an activity open to those of all levels of fitness. Monthly hikes will be slower paced with plenty of rest breaks and no one made to feel they can’t keep up.

THIS FRIDAY is a great time to get out and HIKE:

  • Bring plenty of water and a light snack.
  • Wear trail friendly closed toed shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.
  • We will hike the back trail up to the Reservoir, circle around part of the lake and pause for a 15 to 30-minute break to enjoy the area then hike back coming down the old dirt/gravel road.
  • Plan for about a 2 ½ hour excursion to accommodate breaks and enjoyment of the reservoir.
  • The trail is easy/moderate with exposed tree roots, rocks and a few slight assents and a steep set of stairs, with handrail to climb at reservoir.
