Have you ever thought about teaching a Special Topics course?

Together, the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and New Student and Retention Programs invite you to learn more about developing and teaching GHXX 2901: Special Topics courses.

Teaching Special Topics Interest Session

Tuesday, May 22 – 9 am to 12 pm in the CETL at the Floyd Campus

Special Topics courses are 2-credit hour courses, taught across divisions, at all locations, and online. These courses count for Area B credit and are transferrable throughout the University System. They are a part of GHC’s First Year Experience program and are a collaborative effort between the Academic Divisions, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and New Student and Retention Programs.

By the end of the session participants will able to describe and explain the Special Topics courses, the development process, the proposal process, and the assessment process. We will also discuss FYE elements related to the course.

Participants will be invited to attend follow up intensive course development workshop on Friday, August 31 from 9 am to 3 pm in Cartersville.
