New Instructor of English

Please join us in welcoming Julia Reidy, Instructor of English, to our Georgia Highlands College community. Julia’s primary location will be the Cartersville Instructional Site.

Julia is from Atlanta (the N. Druid Hills area). She attended Chamblee High School, then the University of Georgia for magazine journalism (ABJ ’07). After college, she spent five years as a writer, editor, and graphic designer for local, regional, and national magazines and websites, concentrating primarily on music journalism and criticism (Creative Loafing, Flagpole, Tiny Mix Tapes, Paste Magazine, etc.). Julia then began her master’s at Kennesaw State University in professional writing (MAPW ‘14), concentrating on rhetoric and composition, as well as creative writing. After a year working with the KSU Writing Center, she began teaching first-year composition, and for the last two academic years, she has been teaching FYC courses at KSU full time as limited-term faculty.

In her spare time Julia enjoys cooking new recipes. Her and her partner often go hiking and camping; they have made it their mission to explore as many of the parks in Georgia as possible.

Welcome, Julia!!
