Please join us in welcoming Erica Simpson, Assistant Professor of Communication, to our Georgia Highlands College community. Erica’s primary location will be the Floyd Campus.

Erica is originally from Jasper, Indiana, but has lived in Rome since 2005. She has a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies and Master of Arts in Communication Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Erica was previously part of our GHC team as a Communication Professor from 2006-2014. She previously worked in marketing for The Spires at Berry College, the new Continuing Care Retirement Community being built on Berry College’s campus. Also currently teaching Public Speaking as an adjunct instructor at Georgia Northwestern Technical College.

Erica spends her free time planning events and volunteering for the Rome Downtown Development Authority on their Promotions Committee. This is her 7th year as the Director of the Rome Beer Festival, a fundraiser for the Rome Area Council for the Arts. Erica was also named one of Rome’s 20 Under 40 in Rome News-Tribune’s special edition.
