Chargers get big win over South Georgia Tech

The Chargers knew going into tonight’s game that the Jets of South Georgia Tech would come ready to play.The Jets always are very talented and always give the Chargers a tough go. Tonight at the Corral the Chargers had their way and rolled to a 79-55 win. GHC went on a 9-0 run at the 8:06 mark of the first half and led 38-25 at the half. South Georgia Tech cut the Chargers led to 9, 38-29 at the beginning of the second half. GHC pulled away and extended their lead to 20, 64-44 on Ty’lik Evan’s back to back three pointers at 10:03 mark of the second half. The Chargers forced 22 turnovers, and shot 44.8% from the field, and had 29 points off the bench, on their way to their 17th victory of the season.

” Our point guards, Ty’lik Evans and Kamar McKnigh twere outstanding tonight, 33 points from the point guard position sparked us to a big run in the second half and never looked back, ” said Charger Head Coach Phil Gaffney.

The Chargers were led by Ty’lik Evans with 17, Kamar McKnight with 16 points, Ty Cockfield with 13 points, and Kyvon Davenport with 12 points. The Chargers (17-0) on the season , and (17-0) in GCAA Conference play return to action on Wednesday on the road as they take on Chattahoochee Tech, tip off 7:30pm.
