New Cards for FSA and HSA Participants

We received the timeline from Optum for replacing the US Bank cards with the new Optum Cards for our FSA and HSA participants.

February 11 – an email will be sent to all participants who have an active FSA or HSA, including the FAQ document. Also, the Optum will post the same information in the email and the FAQ document on their website for participants to read.

February 15 – FSA and HSA participants will begin receiving the new Optum cards in the mail from February 15 through March 1.

February 29 – This is the last day that the old card (US Bank) can be used. Participants should not destroy the US Bank card until after February 29. The new card, even if received prior to March 1, cannot be used until March 2.

March 1 – This Black Out period is the only day that neither card will work. If an employee has expenses on March 1, the employee should contact Optum Customer Service at the number on the back their card to discuss their payment options for March 1.

March 2 – All new cards will be activated and can begin being used starting March 2.

Important Note: Everyone will receive a new card with a new card number. Even if an employee has received a new Optum card since January 1, 2016, the employee will receive a new card during this reissue period.
