GHC closure for charger Kick off on August 25th

Greetings, Chargers!

We are so happy to have everyone back at GHC and to see our sites buzzing with energy as the fall semester gets underway. That new year energy means it’s time for this year’s Charger Kick-off. Charger Kick-off is the perfect time to not only hear the latest and greatest about what’s going on with the College and to get in some professional development opportunities, it’s also about coming together as a community and reminding ourselves why we’re here and that we all have each other’s backs. That is why, this year, GHC will be closing all of its locations including the phone queue and the VHub on Friday, August 25th so that all of our amazing faculty and staff can be included in this important event on the Floyd campus. We ask that you help us in making students aware of the upcoming closure by updating your out of office messages for the 25th and spreading the word for how students can leave a message to get help when offices reopen on Monday the 28th. We look forward to seeing all of you at Charger Kick-off.

Each area should put a notice out- here is a template for student notification:

Thank you for being a part of the Georgia Highlands College community. In order to better serve you, all faculty and staff are attending a one-day Charger Kick-off. By closing all GHC sites, phone queue, and Virtual Hub (VHub) for one day of training on Friday, August 25, all GHC team members will receive training on the latest guidelines and procedures.

All services and office staff will resume normal business hours on Monday, August 28.

Should you need to get in touch with someone, please submit a ticket to the address that best meets your needs.
