Ellen Ochoa is a women who excelled in her career of STEM. Ochoa became the first Hispanic female astronaut after completing her training in 1991. Soon after, in April 1993, Ochoa became the first Hispanic female to be launched into space after joining the NASA team as a specialist on board the STS-56.
