President’s Office: COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution Survey Deadline This Thursday

As seen in the message from the President’s Office on Feb. 16:

Dear Georgia Highlands College Faculty and Staff:

Please consider completing this short employee survey which will help determine the number of COVID-19 vaccines requested for our institution. Your response to this survey will be voluntary and anonymous.

At this time, we do not know when the vaccine will be available to our faculty and staff. We are sending this survey in support of planning efforts being made for when the vaccine is available.

Your participation in this voluntary and anonymous survey is intended to help determine the number of individuals who plan to take the COVID-19 vaccine at our college. Your response will not commit you either way. In other words, you might indicate “yes” or “no,” but this will not prevent you from later declining or receiving the vaccine.

Please note that the COVID-19 vaccine is not currently available to our faculty and staff except for very limited exceptions for employees in Phase 1A+ (e.g., healthcare workers, adults 65+ and their caregivers, as well as first responders in law enforcement, fire personnel, etc.). However, our employees will be eligible once the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) transitions from Phase 1A+ to Phase 1B. Of course, vaccines may not be available immediately upon transition to Phase 1B and will depend on the timing of vaccines distributed to the state of Georgia.

I am asking that you complete this survey no later than Thursday, February 25, 2021. Please click here to complete the survey.

Finally, please refer to the DPH website for more information on vaccines as well as specific information on the safety, effectiveness, and reliability of the COVID-19 vaccine. You may also watch this video series from the Georgia Department of Health.

Thank you for your participation in helping GHC prepare for COVID-19 vaccine distribution.

Sincerely,

Don Green
