ASF Early Alert

The college’s annual weekend trip to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery will be April 28-29, and Student Life will handle the sign-up during the first part of spring semester.

The plays we will see at ASF are Twelfth Night, a romantic comedy by Shakespeare, and The Miracle Worker, the story of Helen Keller and how her young teacher helped her find her way back to the world after she lost her sight and hearing due to illness as a very young child.

The trip is open to GHC students, employees, and guests. There are a limited number of spots on the trip, so the early alert is to give those who are interested in going time to think about it before sign-up begins. And don’t worry too much about maybe taking a spot that a student might want. One of the things that makes this trip special is GHC students and employees and friends and families all having fun together and getting to know each other.

We are still working out details, so we don’t have a price yet, but the cost has been around $135 for the last three years (including transportation, hotel, play tickets, and some meals). The trip is co-sponsored by the Humanities Division and Student Life.
