New Assistant Professor of Physics

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Venkata R Chaganti, Assistant Professor of Physics, to our Georgia Highlands College community. Venkata’s primary location will be the Marietta Instructional Site.

Dr. Venkata R Chaganti was born and brought up in India. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. In 2007 he moved to the United States and did his M.S. in Physics from University of Texas, El Paso, TX. In 2009 he joined Georgia State University in pursuit of doctoral degree in Physics. He did his research in condensed matter physics under the guidance of Professor Vadym Apalkov and submitted two international research papers on Quantum Dots.
He obtained his doctoral degree in Physics in January 2016.

Dr. Venkata held his last position as faculty in Physics at our very own Georgia Highlands College during Spring 2017 and faculty in Physics at School of Audio Engineering during Summer 2017.

He is interested in watching Cricket and visiting places with a lot of nature, fauna and flora.
