Academic Integrity Reporting Reminder

Dear GHC Faculty,
As the end of the semester nears, please remember that institutional policies dictate that all discoveries of academic misconduct are to be reported.

Electronic reporting forms can be found at:
https://www.highlands.edu/sample-page/student-life/student-conduct-judicial-affairs/

Faculty may choose to handle the offense themselves via the informal resolution method, but must attempt to have a conversation with the accused student to discuss with them the violation, the recommended sanction, and disclosure of their rights. The reporting form should be completed following that meeting. It is important that ALL CASES be reported according to this process, even if the student does not respond to your attempts to discuss it with them.

Once the report is filed, our Maxient student judicial system will produce an official letter to be sent to the student via their GHC email that will cover the offense, the sanction, and their rights (including the right to object and request a formal hearing). Students will have a standard time frame to respond, object, or change their mind on how the case is processed.

The full judicial process can be found in the current Student Handbook, or online at the above link. Please let anyone in Student Life know if you have any questions regarding the Academic Misconduct Report Form, or the judicial process.

Thanks!
