Softball Sweeps WGTC

Chargers sweep West Georgia Tech to finish the first round of conference play. The Chargers won game one 7-0 behind the arm of Rebecca Meade. Meade pitched the complete game shutout scattering just three hits, one walk, and two strikeouts. Micayla McCoy would get the 6-1 win in game two allowing one earned run on four hits, one walk, and five strikeouts. Andria Booth led the Chargers offensively going 4 for 6 on the day with two doubles, a walk, and two stolen bases. Lauren Womack was 3 for 4 with a double and a walk, while Mackenzy McFarland went yard for her third time this year in game two. The Chargers are now 25-8 on the year and 9-5 in conference. GHC will get back on the road for a midweek doubleheader against Thomas University JV in Thomasville, Georgia on Tuesday. The second round of conference play will begin next Saturday when the Chargers travel to Gordon State.
