GHC Softball

Georgia Highlands sweeps Gordon College 15-1 and 16-3 on the road Saturday. Every GHC starter would record at least one hit both games. The offense was led by the powerful bat of 1B Brianna Fickes. Fickes was a perfect 5-5 on the day with three homeruns, three walks, and 7 RBI. Shay Wooten and Mackenzy McFarland would also add a HR each during the double-header. Rebecca Meade would record two wins throwing 8.1 of 10 innings. Meade allowed two runs (one earned), on five hits, and six strikeouts. Micayla McCoy also threw 1.2 innings allowing two earned runs on two hits. The Chargers are now on spring break and have a home doubleheader against Georgia Military College on Tuesday at 3pm/5pm. This weekend the Chargers will head back down south to take on the Brewton-Parker JV on Saturday. Chargers have broken the single-season win record (previously 27) as they now have an overall record of 29-8 and are 11-5 in conference. (Pictured: Sophomore Brianna Fickes)
