GHC Softball

The Georgia Highlands College softball team completed the tournament sweep on day two of the Sun Chief Classic in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The complete team effort consisted of three different pitchers recording wins on the day and every roster player entering the lineup.

At 11am, the Chargers defeated the Wallace-Dothan softball team 9-8 in extra innings behind the arm of sophomore pitcher Natalie Pederson. The nine-inning game is currently the longest contest the Chargers have played this season.

At 3:45 the Chargers would face Faulkner State and pull a come from behind win after rallying across four runs in the top of the 7th finishing the game at 7-3. Sophomore pitcher Rebecca Meade records the win after 5.2 innings of work while Micayla McCoy would get another save and her first collegiate hit.

The 6pm game continued with McCoy in the circle allowing only one hit in the complete seven inning game. The Chargers closed out the win with a score of 5-0.

The Chargers are now 14-3 on the season and will finish the weekend against Enterprise State in Enterprise, Alabama at 1pm & 3pm central before heading home to Cartersville. Watch all the action on Facebook Live!
