Chargers Softball sweep day 1

Chargers (7-3) sweep day one of the GHC Border Battle winning game one vs Southern Union 4-1 and closing out game two vs Roane State 5-1. Meade (4-2) took the complete game one win allowing one earned run on two hits, 2 walks and a HBP. Chargers went deep twice in game one by the bats of catcher Carlee Thurmond and 1B Brianna Fickes. Fickes HR marks the 16th of her college tenure tying her for the GHC career record with current UGA Bulldog Kayleigh Medlin. Game two featured another great outing by freshman pitcher Micayla McCoy (3-1). McCoy pitched the complete game allowing one unearned run on five hits, three walks, & nine strikeouts. The Chargers return for day two of the Border Battle playing at 12pm vs Cleveland State and 4pm vs Shelton State. Tune in on Facebook Live to catch all the action.
