Lady Chargers get tough win on the road

The Lady Chargers traveled to the LakePoint Champions Center in Emerson to take on the Lady Golden Eagles of Chattahoochee Tech and came away with a tough fought conference win 61-58. The first half was a back and forth affair with the game tied at 14 with 2:06 to go in the first period. GHC took the lead at the end of the first period 21-18. The Lady Eagles again tied the game at 25 with 3:39 to go in the first half but GHC led at the half 32-28.

GHC came out in the second half with a 11 – 0 run midway through the third period to take their largest lead of the night 45-32. Chattahoochee Tech came storming back mid-way through the fourth period to take a 2 point lead with 1:17 remaining. GHC’s Kanisha Tharpe got a huge offensive rebound and put it back in to tie the game at 55 with 38 seconds remaining. Chattahoochee Tech turned the ball over and GHC’s D’Andre Pringle drove the lane and hit the go ahead basket to make it 57-55. GHC hit their free throws down stretch to secure the win.

The Lady Chargers were led by Kanisha Tharpe with 17 points and 10 rebounds, and D’Andre Pringle with 10 points. With the win the Lady Chargers go to (8-12) on the season and (3-1) in GCAA Conference play. GHC will return to action on Saturday as they travel to East Georgia College. Tip off 2:00pm.
