Chargers roll over South Georgia State

The Chargers first half of play was a performance that had the home crowd on their feet as the Chargers roll to a 101 – 65 win over conference rival South Georgia State. GHC’s trademark high pressure defense paid dividends but it was the 66.7%, (10-15) from the three point line in the first half that got the Chargers on their way to a 31-2 run to end the first half 59-24.

The Chargers out-rebounded South Georgia 42-29 and shot 57.6% from the field and had 26 points off turnovers on their way to a 40 point lead mid-way through the second half. ” D’Andre Bernard was spectacular tonight, on  both ends of the floor, he had great effort all night, said Charger Head Coach Phil Gaffney. Leading the way for the Chargers was Ty’lik Evans with 20 points in only 19:00 minutes of play, Antonio Wade was 4/5 from the three point line with 19 points and 7 rebounds, D’Andre Bernard with 18 points and 10 rebounds, Ricco Bonds had 12 points, and Kyvon Davenport had 11 points.

The Chargers (21-0), (8-0) in GCAA play will return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Albany Tech for a 7:30pm tip off.
