Chargers get 100th win in school history

Central Georgia Tech came back from a 12 point deficit midway through the first half and battled the Chargers down to the last seconds but the Chargers got the last defensive stop with 7.0 seconds left in the game to came away with a 90-88 win over the Titans of Central Georgia Tech . With the win the Chargers get their 100th win in school history and continue their 54  consecutive game win streak. GHC took a 6 point lead with 4:04 to go in the game but Central Georgia cut the lead to 2  with 1:47 to go. The Titans stole the ball and tied the game up at 87 with 18 sec. to go. Central Georgia in-bounded the ball and was fouled with 8.0 seconds left , missing both free throws. Massamba Dioum came away with the big rebound and was fouled making both free throws for the  Chargers  to seal the win.

“We hadn’t been in a tight game all year, so it was good to see how we would respond and came back in a dramatic way at the end, our defense was not at its best tonight, but we got the last stop when we needed to.” “Kyvon Davenport was spectacular tonight , if it were not for him we would have been in trouble.” said Charger Head Coach Phil Gaffney.

Davenport was huge for the Chargers with 30 points and 12 rebounds , Ty Cockfield had 19 points, Donovan Ham had 12 points, and Rico Bonds had 10 points. The Chargers (20-0) return to action on Saturday at the Corral versus South Georgia State, tip off 4:00pm.
