The Chargers traveled to the LakePoint Champions Center in Emerson, GA to take on the Golden Eagles of Chattahoochee Tech. Going into the game the Golden Eagles were 13-2 on the season and off to a great start. GHC knew playing on their home floor that they would have to have a great team effort to come away with a win and that is what they did defeating Chattahoochee Tech 87-69. GHC got off to another fast start leading 49-27 at the break. GHC’s largest lead of the night was 24 points. GHC forced 21 turnovers and out-rebounded Chattahoochee Tech 62 to 42.
” Anytime you play a conference game on the road it can be tough, but our guys came out tonight with a great effort. Ty Cockfield was great again tonight” said Coach Phil Gaffney. Cockfield led the way with 25 points and 6 rebounds, Rico Bonds and Kyvon Davenport had 13 points each, and Tylik Evans had 11 points. The Chargers (18-0), (5-0 ) in GCAA play will return to action on Saturday as they travel to Swainsboro, Ga to take on East Georgia College. Tip off 4:00pm.
