Lady Chargers fall to Lawson State

GHC Women fall to Lawson State: The Lady Chargers fell to the Lady Cougars of Lawson State 66-60 . The injury bug has hit the Lady Chargers hard in the past few weeks, losing three players for the year and two others sidelined for several weeks. GHC only had 7 players dressed for tonight’s game. GHC  led at the end of the 1st period 23-21 and that was the last lead they would see. Lawson State pulled out to an 11 point lead at the half. GHC fought hard down the stretch with a 7-0 run late in the 4th period tying the game up at 60 with 1:12 left in regulation. GHC turned the ball over in their next two possessions and Lawson State sealed the win. GHC was plagued by turnovers all night with 20, and the lack of depth due to injuries they were outscored 38 – 11 off the bench. GHC was led by D’Andra Pringle with 12 points, Kanisha Tharpe with a double / double 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Kateryna Khomenko with 11 points. The Lady Chargers (3-7) will return to action at the Corral on Saturday in a GCAA Conference showdown with Albany Tech. Tip off will be 2:00pm.
