Accessibility by Design Training

Instructors often have questions about whether their course design and content meet the expectations and standards for students with disabilities. The rules and regulations of the policies and practices can sometimes be confusing and intimidating, leading some faculty members to unduly stress over their courses and content while leading others to simply ignore these regulations, inadvertently putting the college at risk. To help with these issues, training is being offered called Accessibility by Design for faculty members and administrators.

Accessibility by Design will define accessibility as it relates to Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, address frequently asked questions regarding the creation of accessible content, and provide introductory hands-on instruction of accessibility guidelines in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Adobe PDFs.

There will be a session at each campus/site.
