Consumer Choice HSA/CVS Caremark Issue

Recently, it was discovered that some medical claims information for our Consumer Choice HSA participants was not being sent to CVS/Caremark on the daily files. This would be an issue if the participant in the plan had met the 2015 deductible for medical claims, and then filled a prescription. CVS/Caremark would charge the full price for the prescription since they are not showing that the deductible has been satisfied.

Blue Cross Blue Shield is working on a solution and should have a resolution shortly.

If you believe you have met your deductible this year and prescriptions are not processing correctly as coinsurance, please contact CVS/Caremark customer service (1-877-695-3922). The CVS/Caremark representative will contact Blue Cross Blue Shield to verify the deductible has been met and override their system to ensure that you pay the coinsurance amount and not the full price for the prescription.
