Understand Me – Cross Cultural Communication

Thursday, May 1, at Kennesaw State University, KSU Center, Room 174, from 9AM – 1PM for Understand Me! Cross-Cultural Communication!

Explore how stereotypes of other cultures (varying from other countries, to other work groups) are formed and perpetuated, as well as techniques to prevent stereotypes from negatively affecting professional and personal relationships. This session is highly entertaining and interactive and incorporates “Bafa Bafa,” a cross-cultural simulation game.

Participants will learn to:
– Examine their own bias and focus on how they perceive differences.
– Build awareness of how cultural differences can profoundly impact relationships and interactions with others.
– Learn how stereotypes are developed, barriers created, and misunderstandings magnified.
– Explore strategies for dealing with cross-cultural differences, how to prevent miscommunications, and how to build understanding.
