The following criteria must be met in order to participate:

  • Students must submit a petition to graduate form to the Registrar’s Office and have received notice that they have met all outstanding degree requirements except 1-6 credits to take during the summer semester. The petition to graduate form must be submitted no later than one semester prior to the May commencement ceremony date.
  • Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Students must be in good academic and financial standing.
  • Students must not be in violation of any academic integrity policy or code of conduct.

Disclaimer: Participation in the commencement ceremony does not certify completion of the degree.  All students must meet all academic and financial requirements before the degree will be awarded.

NOTE: This policy only pertains to those students who have 1-6 credits remaining to complete. Students who will complete all degree requirements in May do not have to complete the Request to Participate in Commencement form.
