New Policies Posted on Academic Progress, Concentrations, and Minors

Three new policies have been posted to GHC’s policy website.  They can all be found under the Academic and Student Affairs drop-down, Registrar subheading, or through the search feature at the top of the policy website page.

  1. Updated policy on Academic Progress (Warning, Probation, and Dismissal) – The policy was modified to reflect current practices.
  2. New policy on the requirements for Concentrations within our degree pathways – This policy is effective Spring 2023 and reflects the USG guidelines for establishing a concentration within a program.  An example of this would be our Film Production pathway which has a concentration in either Georgia Film Academy (GFA) production or GFA post-production.
  3. New policy on establishing minors within our bachelor’s degree programs – This policy will be effective Fall 2023, pending final approval of our minor proposals by the USG.

If you have any questions, or concerns, please email mlargin@highlands.edu.

Note, you can submit a request for a new policy or a policy revision through the Policy Proposal Form found on the policy website.
