Don’t forget that this Friday, November 4th is the final day to enroll in the Shared Sick Leave program. Enrollment is on an annual basis and takes effect January 1st of the following year. Employees wishing to enroll are required to donate a minimum of 8 hours of their sick leave to the shared leave pool, but can choose to donate up to 80 hours total (in 8 hour increments). However, they must retain at least 40 hours of personal sick leave.
Any unused leave in the pool is rolled over into the following year, but you will have to re-enroll to continue to be part of the program.
