Race and Counseling Workshop-9/24, 9-12p, via Zoom

You don’t have to be interested in counseling or therapy to attend or to learn something from the workshop. If you’ve ever had a conversation with a loved one, a friend, or maybe a classmate or acquaintance or student about a difficult topic, this may be a good way to practice being a better listener and articulating your thoughts about challenging themes.

You don’t have to be interested in race or BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) to attend or to learn something from the workshop. The concept of cultural humility can be applied to several different identity categories (gender, ability, socio-economic status, etc.) and cultures (work culture, school culture, religion, family culture, etc.). We move between and balance several identities and cultures without thinking about it. This workshop helps us to think about how we move through our respective cultures and its impact on mental health.

If you have time and feel inclined to do so, please join us for this timely and insightful learning experience.
