Primary updates to share this week include 1) 2021 Mace Bearer: Prof. Billy Morris; 2) faculty attendance requirements and regalia information; and 3) new commencement requirements for graduating students.
Congratulations to Professor Billy Morris for being selected the 2021 Mace Bearer! The Graduation Committee is honored to report that Billy will lead the processional for all three commencement ceremonies on Thursday, May 13th. Please refer to Dana Nichols’ email dated March 22 for the official announcement.
GHC full-time faculty should select their commencement preference for attendance by email to PresidentsOffice@highlands.edu by Friday, April 2. Selections will be confirmed via direct email on a first-come, first-served basis. Note: The 10:00 a.m. commencement option with the BBA cohort has reached maximum capacity. The remaining options are 3:00 p.m. for nursing pinning and commencement and 6:00 p.m. for commencement with the DHYG cohort. Refer to Dana Nichols’ email dated March 15 for more details. Faculty who submitted their attendance selection but did not receive an email confirmation should email PresidentsOffice@highlands.edu
The order deadline for faculty regalia is Friday, April 2nd. Refer to GHC Inform post dated March 17 for more details. See attached for order forms specific to pick-up from the campus bookstore at Cartersville and Floyd sites.
Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 eligible graduates who wish to participate in commencement are required to submit a graduation application and commencement reservation by Friday, April 2. Please encourage our graduating students to visit commencement.highlands.edu for updates most relevant to them. Additional questions can be directed to registrar@highlands.edu .
