FACULTY: call for videos and photos

We know you are missing your students and your normal face-to-face interactions during this time. Let’s show our students how much we miss them and what it means to be part of the Charger family!
Help us capture and document these days of remote learning at GHC by submitting cell phone photos or videos of you teaching remotely with your class on a zoom meeting, or maybe holding up a sign saying how much you miss your students, or even record a short, encouraging video message to your students. Get creative!
Digital Media will take the submissions and make a compilation video to post to social media to share with our students, their families, and the college community.
Email your photo or short video by Friday, April 10th
to digitalmedia@highlands.edu
Tips for taking videos and photos on your cell phone:

1. Make sure the camera lens is clean.

2. Make sure the focus is set properly- focus should be set on you and not on a random object in the frame.

3. For photos: experiment using flash, try shooting from different angles and perspectives, and do not use digital zoom.

4. Keep your phone steady and shake free for a sharper image. Try to prop it up on something stationary rather than hand holding.

5. In composing, consider the overall composition and shoot tight enough so you are the subject. Minimize distracting objects in the background.

6. Do not shoot photo or video with a bright window or harsh light behind you. Ideally, you want the light in front or to the side of you.

7. We prefer you shoot the video in horizontal (landscape) format if possible.

8. If possible, shoot video in a 1920×1080 format.

9. Taking and sending the files in the largest format possible always produces better quality.
