New IRS Form W-4

Good Morning,

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has released a new Form W-4, Employee’s Withholding Certificate, on Jan 1, 2020, due to the federal tax law changes that took place in 2018.  Current employees WILL NOT be required to complete the revised version and should not see any change to their withholding amount due to the new form.  Employees hired in 2020 and anyone who makes withholding changes during 2020 WILL be required to use the new form.

If you would like to make changes to your Form W-4 in 2020, please be sure to read the instructions that are included with the form. Please note: if you do not submit a new form, withholding will continue based on your previously submitted form. You may also make changes to your tax withholding from the Tax tile in OneUSG.

If you have questions, the IRS has also published Frequently Asked Questions that you may find helpful (https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/faqs-on-the-draft-2020-form-w-4).
