Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) UPDATES

  • Tax Implications- The amount in excess of $5,250 in educational benefits will be reported each semester and can be added to employee wages at any time during the year.
  • Ineligible Programs- Updates were made in the FAQs for clarification. TAP Frequently Asked Questions
  • Eligibility- employees must be actively working full time, 1.0 FTE, and not on a Leave of Absence at time application deadline.  If LOA applicant returns to work prior to the start of classes and meet other eligibility requirements, application can be approved at that time.
  • Grade Submission Requirements- Students are no longer required to submit grades to TAP coordinator each semester.  TAP coordinators are now responsible for verifying during application period.
  • Application Collection period- Applications will be accepted up to 30 days prior to the application deadline each semester.
  • Limited Slot programs- Employee will confirm TAP availability directly with program administrator.
