Shared Governance Opportunity for Faculty

As you know, the Co-Chairs of the Taskforces working on Statutes/Common Expectations, Polices/Procedures, and Faculty Handbook have been hard at work, and now they need your help.

The Co-Chairs and I cordially invite you to participate in discussions/workshops to be held March 25-March 29, according to the schedule below. We will work from 9 to Noon each day in the Student Center Ballroom in Cartersville.  Everyone should bring his or her laptop.  Everyone will be divided into small group tables and given either a review and critique task or a fresh write task on sections of whatever sets of documents we are working on for that day.  If time allows, we will rotate the documents among the tables.  The topics for each day are as follows:

3/25 – Work on statutes and common expectations

3/26 – Work on policies and procedures

3/27 – Work on policies and procedures

3/28 – Work on faculty handbook (A326 not the ballroom)

3/29 – Work on faculty handbook

Please note that participation is voluntary; you are not required to participate, neither are you required to participate in ALL sessions/days. This is your opportunity to have significant input into the governing documents of Academic Affairs and the College. I welcome your input, even if you can only join in the discussion for a short time.

The VPAA Office will provide light snacks as a “thank you” to those who participate in this shared governance exercise.
