Unlikely hikers are a group looking to promote being in nature and experiencing the joys of hiking while lightly challenging our bodies and reinforcing that hiking is an activity open to anyone. We encourage those of all levels of fitness to join. No hiking experience required.

Expect monthly hikes scheduled for Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings. These hikes will be slower paced with plenty of rest breaks to enjoy plants, wildlife and scenery and no one will be “left behind”.

March Hike

Friday, March 9th at 1pm

Coopers Furnace Trail with optional Pine Mountain Connector Trail – Cartersville GA

Bring plenty of water and a light snack.

Wear trail friendly closed toed shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.

Meet at Coopers Furnace trailhead

We will hike the .7 mile Coopers furnace trail down to the furnace then explore the area along

the river and enjoy a light snack and discussion on future hike locations, dates and times along

with comfort factors for participants on distances and difficulty ratings for trails. We will then

hike back for a total of 1.4 miles on the trail.
