The Chargers closed out the regular season with a 98-73 win over the Tigers of Andrew College. GHC went on a 13-0 run with 13:28 to go in the first half to take a 24-14 lead. The Tigers cut the Chargers lead to three, 33-30 with 5:50 to go in the half. GHC took a 43-39 lead into the half. The Chargers took control of the game midway through the second half and extended their lead to as many as 25 points at the 5:00 minute mark of the second half and cruised to the win.
“We finally hit our stride and played a great 2nd half, outscoring Andrew by 21.” “We will have to play better to beat Andrew again on Tuesday in the tournament,” said Chargers head coach Phil Gaffney. The Chargers had 5 players in double digits led by Sandro Noel with 20 points, AJ Farrar had 17, AJ Banton had 15, TaJuan Johnson had 14, and DeMarcus Addie had 12. The Chargers end the regular season with a 19-9 record and 12-3 in GCAA Conference play. The Chargers will host Andrew College again on Tuesday at the Corral in a GCAA quarter-final match up tip off 7:30pm. |
