The annual GHC holiday event is entering a venue it has yet to explore: digital and online!
The 2017 holiday celebration will feature an online sweater contest. You may recall the 2016 breakthrough that allowed employees across all GHC locations to vote electronically for their top sweater pics. That ability to participate was a huge success, and it will be expanded this year to include the ability to compete in the sweater contest.
The 2017 Holiday Sweater Contest will include 5 category options:
- Best-Matched Couple
- Cutest
- Most Likely To Go Viral
- Most Original
- Most GHC Spirit
Upon return from the Thanksgiving Holiday, Don and Cathy Green will tour GHC locations to visit and deliver wrapped fresh-baked sugar cookies for all employees. While there, a selfie photo station will be set up for holiday sweater contestants to access over several days, and following that will be a timed period for employees to vote for their favorites of each category.
Embracing GHC’s history and continued culture of family in this online venue, you are invited to share vintage family and childhood photos (email address below). These photos will be shared in the Inform updates and will surely provide festive sentiments.
The singular campus event will be waived this year in lieu of tailored visits to each site. Rather than interpreted as a loss of comradery, the hope is this change will be interpreted as an opportunity to embrace and acknowledge all employees. Paraphrasing an observation from the recent SACSCOC visiting committee:
The resounding message across GHC’s multiple sites is ‘one college.’
