BBA Students tour Healthcare and Logistics Organizations

College students rarely have the opportunity to meet professionals in their field of study and know little to nothing about jobs available in the industry. As a result, students who unknowingly have the potential to succeed in these careers often lack the interest to explore them. Our goal is to expose BBA students to industries early on to create career awareness, which will help students develop basic knowledge and understanding of jobs, careers, and the skills that are essential for success in the industries.

Logistics and Supply Chain majors kicked off their first tour on September 12th to Anheuser Busch. The tour was led by David Huskisson, Logistics and Supply Chain manager, who engaged our students in a discussion while leading the tour. LSCM students were exposed to the many moving parts of the organization and gained an understanding of how logistics and supply chain methods work together. Students were encouraged to ask questions.

Healthcare majors toured Floyd Medical Center on November 8th. Led by Bill Fortenberry, Corporate Communications and Government Relations Manager, students had the opportunity to visit non-clinical healthcare departments which includes: Patient Access, HUB, Materials Management & Information Services and Technology. Lunch was also provided by Floyd Medical Center.

We would like to thank our community partners as both tours provided our students an opportunity to understand and learn more about the world of Healthcare and Logistics, how they intertwine, and how these organizations play a major role in our society. A huge thanks to our faculty members as well.
